January yielded the start of new music, new games, and good momentum. Let’s look at the projects that were begun as well as what to expect in coming months. Plus, scroll to the bottom for a free desktop wallpaper.
New Music: Scanning The Void
For years, I’ve wanted to produce a complete music album. And for years, I’ve failed to produce a music album, although I’ve always produced some new music. To jump start the 2024 effort at this goal, I managed to progress a single song idea through three separate production sessions.
You can check out the newly created DLV 2024 profile on SoundCloud to discover all of this year’s new musical experiments including the latest song in all of its evolving forms.

New Game Prototype Sandbox
Back in October, I published an experiment called the Prototype Sandbox. The idea is that it contains all of the game prototypes and tech experiments I’ve built throughout 2023. It is still available as a single, free download here:
I’ve broken ground on Prototype Sandbox 2024, although I have not yet published anything since the first prototype, known currently as Hoverbot Platformer, is barely functional. Sneak peek at the new game concept was recently posted to social media, e.g.:
Other Ambitions
What I wanted to do in January was kick off a creative newsletter with issue #1, but I don’t have that in place yet, so let’s call last month a deep breath before the start of something new.
Something else I’ve wanted to do for a long time is establish a robust and independent platform for a tiny circle of creative friends to better share and learn collaboratively.
Both of these projects need further research, testing, and perhaps a soft launch. In the meantime, this blog and sharing it across social media will allow people to follow my creative journey, and my creative circle continues to make use of third party options to keep in touch.
Next Month’s Forecast
I plan to start on one or two more songs in February as well as get some sort of playable game prototype published in the 2024 sandbox project. Both will be available as soon as possible to anyone interested.
Keep an eye on places like Twitter/X and Instagram for pencil and ink practice and possibly a video or two on YouTube to showcase some of last year’s projects that did not get enough exposure.
